That’s why we offer two remote monitoring options designed to fit your lifestyle and your level of involvement.
Whether you're living here full-time or just visiting seasonally, our remote monitoring systems let you rest easy knowing your generator is being watched over daily. From fully-managed cellular monitoring to self-directed Wi-Fi options, our goal is to make generator ownership worry-free and efficient—so you're never caught off guard when the power goes out.
Kohler offers both CELLULAR or Wi-Fi remote monitoring.
Benefits of CELLULAR vs. Wi-Fi monitoring:
- It is much more dependable than Wi-Fi, so you won’t experience pesky lost connectivity issues.
- It allows reliable visibility of your generator to us, so we can provide you the best service! We set it, you forget it!
- Since we don’t have to get inside to set this up, you do not have to be home.
- If you are on our twice a year service plan, you can drop down to our once a year plan on your next renewal date.

GOLD Tier/CELLULAR monitoring
- You will need: Kohler's cellular kit & installation.
- It will be monitored by CCIP (daily & during storms).
- If the app reports an issue, we will attempt to contact you, and if successful, we’ll head out. Normal trip charges apply.
- Once or Twice a year maintenance options (we recommend 1xYR for GOLD tier)
SILVER Tier/Wi-Fi monitoring
- You will need: Kohler Energy Management app & setup.
- It will be monitored by CCIP (daily, but no storm coverage due to lost wi-fi signals).
- If the app reports an issue, we will attempt to contact you, and if successful, we’ll head out. Normal trip charges apply.
- Once or Twice a year maintenance options
BRONZE Tier/Wi-Fi self-monitoring
- You will need: Kohler Energy Management app & setup.
- Monitored by you or your designated caretaker only.
